Foreign investment in Mexico

"Foreign Investment" is understood to mean: (LIE 2)
II. Foreign Investment:
a) The participation of foreign investors, in any proportion, in the capital of Mexican companies;
b) That carried out by Mexican companies with a majority of foreign capital; and
c) The participation of foreign investors in the activities and acts covered by this Law.

III. Foreign Investor: A physical or moral person of a nationality different from Mexican and foreign entities without legal personality;

VII. Foreigners Exclusion Clause: The express agreement or pact that is an integral part of the bylaws, by which it is established that the companies in question will not directly or indirectly admit as partners or shareholders foreign investors, nor companies with a clause admitting foreigners.

Foreign legal entities that intend to habitually carry out commercial acts in the Mexican Republic shall be governed by the law of their constitution and must be registered in the National Register of Foreign Investments in Mexican companies in which foreign investment participates.
